TapeTrade

Bring back the Network. Your way.

TapeTrade turns your own wrestling library into a proper streaming app - PPVs, shows and eras, with posters and a Continue Watching row. Built for the remote.

What you get

A wrestling library that looks after itself

Point it at where your video lives. It reads the file names, works out what everything is, and lays it out the way you would.

☰

Shows, seasons and PPVs, kept apart

Raw, Nitro, Dynamite - whatever you run - become a show with seasons automatically. One-off events are picked out as PPVs, grouped into collections - every WrestleMania or SummerSlam side by side - and filterable by promotion.

⏲

Ready-made eras

Start from Attitude, the Monday Night War, Ruthless Aggression and more with one tap, or build your own from any show or event, in whatever order tells the story.

👤

Wrestler pages

Tap a name on an event and see every other show or PPV of theirs already in your library, pulled together automatically.

★

Posters and descriptions

Match a show, event or performer to TMDB or TVDB with your own key and it takes the proper name, artwork, cast and synopsis.

▶

Its own thumbnails

When a source has no artwork, TapeTrade takes a still from the video itself, a little way in and never a black frame.

🔒

Reads rclone crypt

Keep your files encrypted in the cloud. TapeTrade decrypts names and video on the TV as you watch, and nothing is written to disk.

✎

Fix things from your phone

A management page you can open on your home network: rename, re-date, move, match and merge, with a layout made for a phone.

⏰

Pick up where you left off

Down to the episode, the event, or the era you were working through - Continue Watching remembers it.

Where it plays from

Bring your own storage

TapeTrade hosts nothing. You add the places your video already lives, and turn any of them off and on again whenever you like.

archive.org

The public favourites of any account, streamed straight from the Internet Archive.

WebDAV

A NAS, Nextcloud, OpenDrive or any server that speaks WebDAV.

Dropbox

Connect your account, choose a folder, and it stays read-only.

Google Drive

Read-only access to the folders you pick, through a Google Cloud project of your own.

How it works

Three steps

  1. Add a sourceFrom the app or the management page on your network. Name it, give it a folder, done.
  2. Let it readIt lists your files, sorts them into shows and events, and makes a thumbnail for anything without one.
  3. Press playBrowse with the remote like any streaming app. Your progress is remembered.
